Saathum
Our commitment
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or conduct that sexualises a minor are strictly prohibited, without exception.
- Grooming, sextortion, solicitation of minors, and trafficking are prohibited and are reported to the relevant authorities.
- Saathum is not intended for children under 13. Accounts we identify as belonging to under-13 users are removed.
What is prohibited
- Creating, uploading, sending, storing, requesting, or linking to CSAM in any format, including AI-generated or computer-drawn depictions.
- Sexualising a minor in text, images, audio, video, profile details, group names, or status posts.
- Contacting a minor for sexual purposes, or attempting to establish contact for that purpose.
- Threatening to share a minor's intimate imagery, or coercing a minor into producing it.
- Facilitating, promoting, or advertising any of the above, including off-platform.
How we enforce this
- In-app reporting.
Users can report a conversation or an account from within the app, and can email us at any time. Reports flagged as child safety concerns are routed to a priority queue. - Blocking.
Users can block any account immediately, which stops all calls and messages from it. - Review and action.
Reports are reviewed by our safety team. Confirmed CSAE violations result in immediate and permanent account termination, preservation of the relevant evidence, and removal of the offending content. - Reporting to authorities.
Confirmed CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement in the relevant jurisdiction, as applicable law requires. - Re-registration.
We take steps to prevent terminated accounts from returning to the service.
Privacy and encryption
Some Saathum content is private to the participants. Where content is not accessible to us, we act on user reports, account-level signals, and metadata, and we preserve and disclose what we lawfully hold when required by valid legal process. Our enforcement against reported accounts does not depend on our ability to read message content.
