How to price your first listing
100 Tokens = $1 internally. Beyond that, the number is yours to choose — here is how to choose it.

Most people setting a price for the first time do the same two things: they guess, and they
guess low. It is worth a few minutes of thought instead, because the number you publish is the
single biggest lever on whether this is worth your evening.
First, the unit
Saathum prices everything in tokens, with 100 Tokens = $1 as the
rate is fixed, both directions — it is what a customer pays to buy tokens, and what an unused
token is worth on the way out. Checkout may be shown in local currency using a server-owned FX
quote; there is no promised withdrawal or redemption rate. Full detail is in Tokens & Wallet.
Price the outcome, not the minutes
"X tokens per hour" is the instinctive framing, and it is usually the weakest one. People are not
buying an hour; they are buying the thing that is true afterwards — the doubt resolved, the
thing they finally understand, the evening they did not spend alone. A session that gets someone
there in twenty minutes is worth more to them than one that takes ninety, not less.
Start where you can raise it
Set a price you would be content to be booked at ten times this month, then raise it when you
are. Raising a price on a listing that is filling up is easy and nobody resents it. Cutting a
price you announced too confidently is harder, and it teaches the people who already paid that
they overpaid.
Know what you actually keep
The customer pays your listed price. Saathum deducts a platform commission, which is shown to you
before you publish a listing or accept a booking — we do not spring it on you afterwards. What
remains is credited to your wallet in tokens. Withdrawal semantics are not yet available, so no
payout fee, tax, minimum, or timeline is promised.
See Pricing & Fees and Payouts & Withdrawals for the rules in full.
Then get the calendar right
A good price on hours you resent is still a bad deal. Open the slots you actually want to work —
see how bookings work.
Saathum is still evolving. We are an early-stage Delaware corporation,
business, access is invite-only, and our payment gateway application is under review,
so payments are not yet live to the public. Prices shown on the site are indicative during
this period. Read our full status.
